RECORD STORE DAY 2026
Open Decks at Inverted Audio Record Store — Saturday 18 April
Record Store Day returns this Saturday, and this year we’re doing something a little different.
Rather than focusing on limited pressings and early queues, we’re opening up the decks — to you. From 14:00 to 21:00 at Inverted Audio Record Store in Peckham, we’ll be hosting a series of 40-minute all-vinyl sets played by customers, regulars and anyone who considers the shop a second home.
There is no headline act, no fixed direction. The day unfolds through a sequence of selections shaped by the people who actually keep record shops alive — spanning house, techno, ambient, experimental and wherever the records take us. All sets will be played on a rotary mixer, with an emphasis on flow over performance.
Record Store Day was always meant to celebrate the role of independent shops within their communities. For us, that role has less to do with scarcity and more to do with continuity — the regular visitors, the conversations across the counter, the records that accumulate meaning over time. An open decks session felt like the most honest way to mark it.
If you’d like to play, sign up below. Slots are 40 minutes, all vinyl, and selectors will receive 10% off records in-store on the day. Orbit Beers will be keeping things lubricated throughout, with Nico Lager — gluten-free and vegan-friendly — on hand for selectors and visitors alike.

RSD Exclusive: Flying Lotus — *1983* (Gold Splatter Vinyl)
Brainfeeder is reissuing Flying Lotus’ debut album *1983* on limited edition gold splatter vinyl — and we’ll have copies available in store on the day.
Originally released in 2006 on Plug Research, *1983* captures the earliest transmissions from Steven Ellison, recorded in his grandmother’s bedroom and blending hip-hop, IDM and jazz with a loose, exploratory feel. The influence of J Dilla runs through it, alongside Brazilian rhythms and a forward-facing instinct for beat culture that would go on to shape later classics like *Cosmogramma* and *You’re Dead!*.
Now remastered and pressed on gold splatter wax, this Brainfeeder reissue gives the record the physical presence it has long deserved. Stock is strictly limited — if you’re planning to pick up a copy, arrive early. We’d suggest no later than 12:00.
